Vintage Sugar: A Period Fashion Editorial
Images from a period fashion editorial created to help publicize a fashion show to be held in the decommissioned Imperial Sugar mill in Sugar Land, Texas.  At the time of the shoot the mill had stood unused for 15 years. The show, which never materialized because the promoter failed to secure any backing, would have featured a historical component that paralleled the period of growth for Sugar Land from the post WWII years until the early 2000s.  This editorial, which was published, covered the same period and included period hair and makeup, authentic fashions starting with a 1940s silk jacquard dress and ending with a geometric Versace pants ensemble from the 2000s.  The lollipops echo the  "sugar" theme and the location.  Selective color and desaturation suggests the awakening of a past era.
